OLYMPIA — Yesterday, U.S. Rep. Dan Newhouse announced that two federal grants from the fiscal year 2024 Appropriations bills, which passed in March, would fund significant infrastructure improvements at two Washington airports, including Pangborn Memorial Airport.
“These projects are crucial for both the safety and service of our airports that already contribute so much to our economy here in Central Washington,” said Rep. Newhouse in a press release. “Grants like these go a long way in federal projects and I am looking forward to seeing these two come to fruition.”
The Chelan-Douglas Regional Port Authority will receive roughly $609,000 in federal funds to replace the rotary snow blower at Pangborn Memorial Airport to stay open and serviceable throughout the coming winter months.
Richland Airport is the other Washington airport that is set to receive funds from the two federal grants. The Port of Benton will receive roughly $766,000 to complete the second phase of their runway resealing project.
