The City of Dunkirk’s Music on the Pier Summer Concert Series continues for the third week today on the Dunkirk Pier. The concerts are presented by DFT Communications with stage sponsor National Grid and production company Advanced Production Group (APG).
Sponsored by Lake Shore Savings Bank, the 70’s Night opener is Sequins from 5:25 to 6:25 p.m. with Tequila Sunrise Eagles Tribute Band as the headliner from 6:45 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.
Sequins is Western New York’s brightest dance and party band playing favorite funky hits from the 70’s to today.
Sequins played their first show in June 2021, right as the world started to reopen after Covid hit.
Made up from experienced musicians from groups such as Disco Duck, The Diva Show Band, Wünderland, Universal Grille, and Finding Dimes, Sequins has put together the best in driving dance music from the 70’s and 80’s, along with party songs and rock classics to give everyone something to dance to and sing along with.
The band is composed of Melody Catalano (vocals), Henry Richards (guitar/vocals), Ric Stave (bass, vocals, synth programming) and Micky Judware (drums/Percussion).
Currently with over 100 shows under their belt, the band is constantly adding new songs and seeking new venues to perform in and adding new fans along the way.
Tequila Sunrise is Western New York’s newest Eagles Tribute. The band debuted in February 2023 to a sellout crowd at the legendary Sportsmen’s Tavern in Buffalo, NY.
Tequila Sunrise performs Eagles classics along with solo hits from Don Henley, Glenn Frey and Joe Walsh – with some added selections from the Eagles musical family (Poco, Jackson Browne, Bob Seger, etc.).
Founded by singer/guitarist Scott Celani, a 2021 inductee into the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame, the band also features lead guitarist/vocalist Dick Bauerle (Buffalo Music Hall of Fame), lead
guitarist/vocalist Mike Runo (Buffalo Music Hall of Fame), keyboardist/guitarist/vocalist Dick Gary Styn, bassist/vocalist Steve Truisi and drummer Cave Wilson.
Since their debut, Tequila Sunrise has been performing for wonderful audiences at theaters, concert halls and festivals throughout Western New York and beyond.
The pier will be closed to traffic at 2 p.m.
Food trucks and other vendors will be on site along with the city’s beverage tent. The Dunkirk Boardwalk Marketplace and surrounding businesses will also be open. Guests are reminded to bring a chair. Dunkirk event brochures are available from the board atrium or Dunkirk City Hall.
