The Government of the Northwest Territories is now accepting funding proposals for the Early Childhood Infrastructure Fund for the 2024-2025 fiscal year.
The Early Childhood Infrastructure Fund is designed for projects that preserve or expand existing infrastructure of licensed centre-based childcare spaces or that create new licensed centre-based child care spaces in Northwest Territories communities.
Funding priority will be given to communities with limited or no early learning and childcare programming.
Eligible organizations include:
- Licensed centre-based early learning and childcare programs
- Indigenous governmentsÂ
- Non-profit organizations
- Community-based programs
- Education bodies
The total budget available is approximately $5.9 million for 2024-2025. The amount applicants receive is determined on a per-proposal basis and available funding.
Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis, which means that they are continually accepted and reviewed at specific intake periods.Â
- August 1, 2024 (for 2024-2025 funding)
- October 1, 2024 (for 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 funding)
- February 1, 2025 (for 2025-2026 funding)
- May 1, 2025 (for 2025-2026 funding)
Funding decisions will be communicated to applicants within a month of the above dates.
