Yahoo Revamps Its News App With AI Features

Yahoo recently revamped its Yahoo! News App with brand-new AI features that have been designed to enhance and cater to user experience. Yahoo acquired the AI news app Artifact this year and rolled out the AI features from the now-shut-down application. The Yahoo application now features a highly customisable feed after the update, letting users change their content preferences with ease.

The application will now deliver news recommendation based on user preference, selected topics, and preferred publishers because of the incorporated AI algorithms. This is designed in a way that will make sure that users get their preferred news at their news feed.

A key feature of this update is the Key Takeaways tool, which provides a basic summary of the news topic, allowing users to understand the crux of the story in just few lines. A Top Stories section has also been introduced by Yahoo, which showcases top global news to the users  to  update them in real-time. Yahoo has also added sharing tools that can be used to share articles across various platforms, including social media. Users can now block specific keywords and take control over what content they want to consume.

The Yahoo! News App is available for download on both iOS and Android devices in few select regions. To encourage consistent reading, Yahoo has also introduced gamified elements like streaks and badges to promote regular interactions between users, rewarding them in the process.
