You can expect holiday weekend sales on anything outdoors, from paper plates to mowers. But here are a few recommended products with deep discounts.
If you need a new grill, here’s a hot find.
“There’s a Weber Spirit Smart Series on sale right now for $699,” said Mary Beth Quirk with Consumer Reports. “It’s usually $870. So you’re saving a good chuck there. It has a very good performance on all three burners and wifi. You can check the temperature of your food. You can keep an eye on your grill from your smartphone.”
Save on home essentials, like a vacuum.
“Shark Vertex Pro is a good choice for a cordless stick vac on sale this weekend. It’s $330 on Amazon, down from $450. It cruised through all of our tests for carpet, floors even those pesky pet hairs,” said Quirk.
Expect huge markdowns on large appliances. Always understand your warranty.
“So there’s a great deal on a Whirlpool fridge. It’s a side-by-side model that has external water and ice dispenser touchpad control with gallon-sized storage bins. It’s about $1,200 at ABT Electronics and a slew of other retailers,” said Quirk.
If you shop around and spot a better deal elsewhere, ask if the store will price match. If you’re debating to fix or nix a large appliance, ask yourself these things:
- What’s the age of the appliance?
- How much will the repair cost?
- How does that compare to what you paid when you bought it?
If you can’t swing it this weekend, you’ll see more days during the Fourth of July and Labor Day holidays.
