Loraine Frances Wilson (Kuschel), 78, died peacefully on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Saint Vincent Hospital in Erie, PA. Loraine was born on March 18, 1946, to Andrew and Frances Kuschel of Dunkirk both of whom preceded her in death. She attended Cardinal Mindszenty High School, Class of 1963. She worked as a secretary to the guidance counselor at Brocton Central School, where she was well-loved by colleagues and students alike. During her time there, she was awarded the C.C.A.E.O.P. Educational Office Professional of the year.

In her spare time, Loraine loved to travel with her husband, bake, read, do puzzles, and spend time talking and laughing with her friends and family. A woman of unwavering faith, she was a long time member of Christ Community Church in Fredonia. Loraine was a four-time cancer survivor, and she credited her faith in God and the love of her husband for seeing her through these trials.

Loraine is survived by her dedicated husband of 58 years, Raymond Wilson; two sons, Jeffrey Wilson (Bernadett) of Waterford, Pennsylvania, and Robert Wilson (Elizabeth), of Dublin, Ireland; seven granddaughters, Hannah Wilson (Anna), Erin Wilson (Thomas), Rachael Wilson, Robin Wilson (Dmitry), Alexandra Wilson, Kendra Wilson, and MÈabh Wilson; and one brother, John Kuschel (Maria) of Dunkirk.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, James Kuschel of Columbus, Ohio, and William Kuschel of Portland, New York.

Family and friends of Loraine are invited to join us in honoring her life at McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home where calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 22, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.; Prayer services will commence at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 23, at McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home. Interment in Portland Evergreen Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society in honor of Loraine’s multiple battles against cancer.
