3 local girls qualify for state golf

GOWANDA — Three members of the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association have earned a trip to Rexford next month for the New York State Public High School Athletic Association girls golf championship.

Jocelyn Wintersteen of Cassadaga Valley/Maple Grove, and Juliana Spacciapolli and Sydnee Hoffman of Fredonia claimed berths by virtue of their performances at the Section VI Championships at Gowanda Country Club on Monday.

Wintersteen fired an 84, Spacciapolli shot a 90 and Hoffman recorded a 96, which qualified them to represent the section at The Edison Club June 2-3.

Following are the scores of the other CCAA representatives at the sectionals: Jamestown, Nilla Ecklof 105 and Avery Salvaggio 109; Cassadaga Valley/Maple Grove, Rebekka Roberts 106, Lauren Jasinski 111, Brandi Meder 124 and Cady Rodgers 121; and Olean, Sophie Bartman (102) and Katie Crawford (105).
