FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) – February flooding left parts of the commonwealth in a rebuilding phase.
In Franklin County, Judge Executive Michael Mueller is dealing with a worsen road closure.
After the water receded off Glenns Creek Road the bank slipped, taking part of the road and a electric pole with it.
“Even though the flood’s been a couple weeks ago we’re still seeing issues come up just like this all over the county,” Mueller said.
James Culp lives in the area and said this road being closed after a flood is not new.
“I think Glenns Creek Road been kind of an ongoing challenge with the river and this is the second time in five years that we’ve had some pretty major damage,” Culp said.
Mueller said the road closure is not impacting traffic at this time but during distillery tourism season that may change.
“Its not the main road typically we like to keep tourist especially tour buses out on the main road Versailles Road to Duncan Road but there is quite a bit of traffic that comes,” Mueller said.
Culp said he hopes this road closure does not take as long to reopen.
