Must read

What to Know

  • The Bruins went into full sell mode, trading away Brad Marchand (FLA), Brandon Carlo (TOR) and Charlie Coyle (COL) on Friday.
  • The Bruins already traded Justin Brazeau (MIN) and Trent Frederic (EDM) earlier in the week.
  • Top contenders such as the Panthers, Stars, Avalanche, Jets and Capitals all made moves to improve their roster.

The 2025 NHL trade deadline didn’t disappoint.

A ton of deals were made ahead of Friday’s 3 p.m. ET deadline, and the Boston Bruins were among the busiest teams. They dealt away captain Brad Marchand, center Charlie Coyle and defenseman Brandon Carlo on Friday. That’s in addition to trading center Trent Frederic and left wing Justin Brazeau earlier in the week.

The B’s saw that it was a seller’s market with so many teams still in the playoff race, and general manager Don Sweeney took full advantage.
