STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A major police response in underway at an outdoor shopping mall in Charleston on Thursday morning.
Unconfirmed emergency radio communications indicate that shots were fired in the 2700 block of Veterans Road West around 5:30 a.m.
A large number of NYPD vehicles and personnel have responded to the parking lot.
Caution tape is spread across an area of the parking lot near the Home Depot.
