Modry Las Golf Resort – The PGA National Poland, one of Europe’s leading golf resorts, is reaping the rewards after marking its 15th anniversary with a series of international tournaments and launching new accommodation options.
The celebrations at Modry Las culminated in a special gala weekend and confirmation the resort had been included in Golf World’s Best Value Courses in Continental Europe 2024, published in UK magazine Today’s Golfer.
During 2024, Poland’s only signature course unveiled six new course-side Garden Suites and hosted its largest press trip which welcomed 17 journalists from around Europe. The Gary Player-designed course has subsequently recorded an upsurge in rounds played as well as a rise in member applications.
The anniversary year resulted in double-digit growth in membership numbers and increasing demand by guest golfers, both national and international. The momentum continues into 2025 with news that the seven-time winner at the World Golf Awards has been nominated not only as Poland’s Best Golf Course, but also for this year’s category covering Europe’s Best Golf Course.
Not surprisingly, the chairman of Modry Las struck an upbeat note when discussing the achievements at the resort. “It was a momentous year,” said Arthur Gromadzki. “The milestone gave us the opportunity to promote Modry Las to the world and reflect upon a decade and a half of growth and development. The ethos at Modry Las has always been to seek out ways to improve what we do and our 15th birthday gave us a moment to reflect on how far we have come under this mantra. The increase in rounds and membership validates our efforts, as does our ever-growing international guest list.”
Gromadzki explained that hosting a series of international events during 2024 gave Modry Las the impetus to continue the schedule into the 2025 season. “We were keen to follow the success of the Polish Open Men’s and Women’s International Championships last year with equally prestigious tournaments which would carry forward the momentum of our anniversary year. So, when the opportunity arose to stage the Polish Junior Championship as well as the Senior Masters Club Championship, we were pleased to accept.”
He was also delighted to receive the nominations for the World Golf Awards which followed the resort’s inclusion in Golf World’s latest Top 100 listing. “We’ve been fortunate to be included in a number of Top 100 selections. The most recent was being included in the 2024 Best Value Courses in Continental Europe by Golf World,” he said. “The double nomination for The World Golf Awards is particularly satisfying because it includes both national and Europe-wide categories
“There is a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes to maintain the position of Modry Las on the international stage. Our team used the 15th anniversary as a springboard to organize a fantastic press trip which welcomed journalists from Scandinavia, Holland, Austria, Belgium, France, UK and Germany. For some, it was their first time at Modry Las while others had visited when the resort first opened in 2009. It was great to receive so much positive feedback during the trip, particularly about our championship course, clubhouse and accommodation.”
Modry Las features a 27-hole facility with a 2000m2 clubhouse, 31 hotel rooms, a restaurant that can seat 70, two private dining rooms, a conference venue and a fully equipped spa. It will host, among others, the Junior 5 Stars Cup hosted by Adrian Meronk from July 23-25, the Senior Master Club Championship from July 28-30, and the Polish Junior Championship from August 4-6.
