American Express Global Business Travel has announced two internal promotions to boost its marketing and technology efforts.
The US-based TMC has named Evan Konwiser as chief product and strategy officer, which will see him leading Amex GBT’s product team as well as heading up corporate strategy, communications and corporate sustainability.
Konwiser has been working for the company for 14 years in several roles including most recently as chief marketing and strategy officer. He has also been a member of the TMC’s executive team for five years.
In another move, Alisa Copeman has been promoted to chief marketing officer from her previous role of SVP of global marketing. Copeman will have responsibility for leading Amex GBT’s brand and marketing strategies in her new position.
“These moves will help the company better support customers in maximising travel as a growth driver and support its work expanding its software and services offering,” added the TMC in a statement.
Amex GBT received some good news on its planned takeover of rival CWT last week when the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) provisionally reversed its previous opposition to the merger. But the deal still faces the hurdle of a lawsuit brought by the Department of Justice in the US, which is due to be heard in September.
