We Scream Ice Cream Shop

Must read

I scream, you scream, We Scream Ice Cream Shop

We Scream Ice Cream Shop
2025 has been a doozy but there’s one corner of our city, where things are bright, comfy and delicious… and that’s We Scream ice cream shop.

Located in the heart of Germantown (1103 Goss Avenue), We Scream opened their scoop shop the weekend of Valentine’s Day. You might think ice cream on a cold day doesn’t make sense, but doesn’t ice cream always make any day better? My daughter and I would agree as we stopped in the scoop shop on a Tuesday afternoon. The storefront is easy to find as it is adorned with bright green paint and a lovely porch. I can just imagine us sitting outside watching ice cream melt from our cones soon enough…

As you walk into the store you are greeted with a dream ice cream aesthetic that screams, “I want all the scoops and shakes and sundaes!” When you walk a little further back, you are then faced with the impossible choice of which flavor you will treat yourself to. They offer a wide variety ranging from traditional flavors like milk chocolate, strawberry and vanilla to more unique flavors like Dr. Pepper float, banana pudding and oatmeal cream pie. They offer a variety of scoop sizes, with so many toppings to add to any scoop or sundae. The owner of the store was warm and welcoming and offered to let us try any flavors we wanted. We loved the cotton candy and milk chocolate best…

My daughter, so affectionately only has eyes for “Chocky,” so that is what we went with.

We sat in the storefront at one of the many very cute table tops. Each table has ample amount of chairs and the space is airy, clean and filled with some fun tunes.

I also wanted to point out their donation station at We Scream Ice Cream Shop that includes arts and crafts for kiddos to use while there, along with a space where people can donate to the Kentucky Humane Society. Me personally, I love a built in activity, that doesn’t involve screens and taps into the creative spirit. We did not indulge in making a picture, but I will tell you if given the opportunity, my child would never leave We Scream with access to ice cream, crayons and paper.

My daughter and I devoured our kiddie scoop from We Scream Ice Cream Shop and wished we had more… but we did not want to spoil our dinner. As we sat there, I started imagining the space full of kids running around on a sunny summer day, ice cream dripping down their faces and parents grateful for a space that is comfortable, beautiful and has delicious ice cream. We may have a few things in the world not going great, but thank god, we will always have ice cream.
