Shoppers frustrated by potholes at Wildwood Shopping Center entrance

Must read

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Shoppers at the Wildwood Shopping Center in Lakeshore are expressing frustration over a cluster of deep potholes at the entrance, which they say are creating safety concerns and inconveniences.

Anna Endinger, a Birmingham resident who frequently visits the center, described the roads as “rough” and expressed a desire for more attention to the issue.

“The roads are rough. It’s kind of hard to look over, and I wish it was more people who cared like y’all about the potholes,” Endinger said. “Sometimes I’ll hit the potholes, which is definitely not great for my tire health at all. But I do try to swerve and avoid whenever the traffic conditions permit that.”

Ricky Eatmon, a Woodlawn resident who visits the area regularly, echoed similar concerns. “I come over here maybe twice a week because my wife has to pick up medicine from the pharmacy and then we go to Sam’s and shop because it’s a lot cheaper,” Eatmon said. “We just want them fixed.”

The City of Homewood, which oversees other parts of Lakeshore, stated that the Wildwood Shopping Center property is privately owned. Richard Holman, the property manager for the center, acknowledged the issue and said he plans to take action as soon as possible.
