Indianola Infrastructure Undergoing Ongoing Upgrades

Must read

As the City of Indianola continues to grow, infrastructure will also continue to see multiple projects and construction work to bolster the safety of the area. Indianola Fire Marshal Ted Neller tells KNIA News he works with developers every day to help maintain the safety of facilities within the city, and city property owners have been receptive to the changes.

“I would say the best example of that, that everyone is familiar with, is the square reconstruction. It was inconvenient for a lot of people, but it was a necessity because there were water mains there and electricity connections there. We work hand in hand with the water department and electricity, to make sure our water mains are getting updated. And as construction is happening, we are trying to replace some of that outdated stuff with larger, more efficient things so that moving forward Indianola is poised for more growth in the future.”

Neller also said a big project over the last several years by the city is to have uniform building codes with many of the other suburbs of Des Moines so developers know exactly what to expect when coming to Indianola.
