Trader Joe’s officials are planning to open a new location in Kingwood, according to a Feb. 7 filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Registration.
According to the filing, construction on the 17,180-square-foot project is expected to begin on or after June 1 and wrap up by Dec. 1. The $900,000 project will be an interior build out of an existing vacant building located in the Kingwood Commons shopping center.
Trader Joe’s is a California-based national chain of neighborhood grocery stores that offers specialty food and beverages, frozen meals and everyday items. The company has six additional locations in the Greater Houston area including three in Houston and one each in Katy, Sugar Land and The Woodlands.
A projected opening date had not been announced as of press time Feb. 10.
