Don’t shop at Aldi until you know this: the best and worst days to save money

Must read

Aldi is a place of wonder for those faithful to the brand; its middle aisle is the stuff of legend that wows its visitors on a daily basis – but not everyone is aware of the keys to visiting that can make the experience even greater.

The lottery of the shop is what makes it such a curious attraction and a factor that sets it apart from its rivals. You could have a good day, you could have a bad day. But those special days at Aldi are what keeps us going back for more.

And now it seems that the system, the Aldi algorithm, has been hacked: Wednesdays have been proven to be the best day of the week to go shopping at the chain store as they hit the perfect spot on the Venn Diagram in terms of stock and surprises.

As much as it sounds like I’m joking, there is method to the madness. Aldi Finds are generally released every Wednesday, while last week’s Finds are discounted, meaning you can find those typical Aldi gems for even less. Just keep in mind that the Aldi faithful already know this, and they’re normally out in force.

When is the worst day to do food shopping?

Saturdays between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. are said to be the most popular times for people to go grocery shopping. Going later on Saturdays, while it’ll sure be quieter, also means you may miss out on the goodies that have been swiped by those ready to do battle in the peak times.

While Tuesdays are indeed more relaxed, they are usually the days that see the least stock on the shelves, coming right before the big restock every Wednesday. However, if you value the chilled out experience over Aldi madness, then Tuesdays are your best bet on this one.
