A man’s weekly shop has left social media users in stitches after the random assortment of goods was hailed the ‘most blokey thing ever’.
The British father ventured out for his weekly shop, only to return with a mini-haul of nine items that has been dubbed a typical ‘bloke dinner’ by amused social media users.
The man’s daughter, Lauren, tweeted a photo of the goods adding the caption: ‘Pls look at this food shop my dad just did.’
In the post, the father’s ‘essentials’ were laid bare on the kitchen counter, which included savoury goods such as Warburtons bread, Heinz sandwich spread, a six-pack of BBQ flavoured Walkers and two packets of salted and dry roasted peanuts.
To satisfy his sweet tooth for the week, the man also picked up a packet of milk chocolate peanuts, Roland’s fig rolls and Uncle Joe’s mint balls, all ready to be washed down with a six-pack of Brewdog’s Black Heart beer.
Referring to her father’s choice of beer, Lauren added: ‘To confirm everyone’s suspicions, he is a Guinness drinker but got the Brewdog because they were on offer.’
The post has since amassed 1.6 million views on the social platform, with dozens of X users commending the man for his ‘top level’ selection of ‘blokey’ items.
One person wrote, ‘Solid week lined up,’ while another said, ‘An absolutely Stupendous selection. Hats off.’

A third commented, ‘A stout, a sandwich, some crisps and some snacks. I see no problem,’ as another added, ‘Bloke dinner.’
In relation to the Heinz sandwich spread, one person wrote, ‘What is older people’s obsession with heinz sandwich spread it looks FOUL,’ as another added, ‘Sandwich spread aside that’s top level stuff tbh.’
Another person noted, ‘No but fig rolls + peanuts is definitely a dad thing,’ while a fellow user remarked, ‘That’s a proper blokey dad shop.’
A third joked: ‘Peanuts three ways? Get him on Masterchef.’
Another commented: ‘This could honestly be my dads food shop – incredible what men from that era can survive on, 4 cans could get through a plague.’
Though it’s not clear whether the father’s shopping is a full week’s worth of food, or simply a selection of snacks, the NHS recommends eating a balanced and nutritious diet.
In order to maintain good health, it’s encouraged to eat five portions of fruit and vegetables each day, along with starchy foods containing high fibre or wholegrains.
Meanwhile, an Aldi shopper has received backlash online after sharing how he managed to spend a mere $20 on a week’s worth of groceries.

The budget-friendly haul included frozen vegetables, eggs, baked beans, noodles, almond milk, rolled oats, penne pasta, bananas, red kidney beans, brown onions, yoghurt, mandarins and passata sauce.
But many part of the Aldi Fans Australia Facebook group dubbed the grocery list as ‘unhealthy’ as it was missing protein, fruit and fresh vegetables.
The customer also shared an image of the receipt to confirm he only spent $19.96.
It comes after a woman has revealed her shock after discovering a ‘freak’ double banana lurking inside her Morrisons grocery shop.
Kate Wright was blown away when rifling through her fruit bowl for a morning snack when she spotted that one of her bananas was twice its usual size.
Her husband Harry had bought a bunch of bananas in the Kendal branch of Morrisons in Cumbria that week – but hadn’t noticed the rare phenomenon nestled inside his shopping bag.
The school compliance officer said she’d never seen anything like the girthy fruit before and opted to share the bulky banana with her husband the following day.
Double bananas – where two sit together in a single skin – are extremely rare.
The 49-year-old said she feels ‘blessed’ to have the colossal snack fall into her hands.
Kate said: ‘I went to the fruit bowl on Saturday morning and picked out a banana for breakfast and, lo and behold, behind the main bananas was a double banana.
‘It was like a chunky banana in two sections all within one skin. It was a complete freak thing.

‘I’d never seen anything like this in 49 years. I didn’t really want two at once so waited until Sunday lunch for our pudding and me and my husband had the double banana.
‘I pulled it down and could see there were two separate bananas in the one skin with one stalk.’
Despite looking different to usual, Kate insisted that the banana tasted the same as ever.
She said: ‘Me and my husband had one each for lunch and it didn’t taste weird. It tasted like a completely normal banana, there was nothing unusual about it.
‘Some people have said it’s lucky. People have said I should buy a lottery ticket but I’m not really a gambling person.

Around five per cent of bananas are thought to grow into double bananas, but most are discarded before they can hit the supermarket shelves
Student Tom Symes was previously left perplexed when he opened a banana, his favourite fruit, to find two inside, merged together
‘I feel quite blessed it fell into my hands. I think it’s a really interesting find. It’s not something you come across.’
Around five per cent of bananas are thought to grow into double bananas, but most are discarded before they can hit the supermarket shelves.
Banana importers J N Fox and Sons told the BBC that double bananas are usually removed from their stems when they are young.
This is so they don’t squash single bananas and steal their nutrients.
However, they added that double bananas are fine to eat, and the only difference is that they have grown differently.
While double bananas are understood to be very rare, in extremely rare cases three or four finger bananas can grow.
Very occasional cases of double bananas have previously been documented in the media.
In 2020, student Tom Symes from West Sussex bought a bunch of bananas from his local Tesco, but failed to notice that one was considerably larger than the others.
The 24-year-old was perplexed when he opened the banana, his favourite fruit, to find two inside, merged together.
The shocked student said: ‘I was immediately astonished by its girth. Upon opening, it was revealed to be a double banana in one skin.
‘I was surprised and dumbfounded at first. I thought it might have been a bit rotten so I was glad to see there were no spiders’ eggs inside.’
