Must read

Floridians know that sometimes, businesses vacate their spaces for various reasons and the space can then sit empty. Many Floridians don’t like seeing empty retail or restaurant spaces. Those folks may be happy to know that an empty Bealls in a Publix-anchored shopping center in St. Petersburg will get a new tenant – a fitness center.

About The Bealls In Question: The Bealls in question, located at 2830 54th Avenue South in St. Petersburg’s Seville Square, which is anchored by Publix, closed in July of 2024. The shopping center was built in 1988 and used to be anchored by an Albertson’s back when the chain was active in Florida (some Floridians may remember this.) Many seemed to enjoy shopping at the Bealls as it earned 4.4 out of 5 stars on Google reviews. Yolanda left a typical good review, writing:

“Very clean, well-organized store with fair prices and really nice quality. Staff is friendly and very helpful when asked. This is where I prefer to shop for shoes, without having to go all the way to the malls, because there’s a decent variety and really good deals.”

The New Tenant: EōS Fitness’ has signed a long-term lease and will refurbish the Bealls in a multimillion-dollar investment. Dave Reiseman, chief growth officer of EōS Fitness, said that Pinellas County was a good fit for the company and its philosophy, explaining:

“EōS recognized Pinellas County as a fast-growing, vibrant area and saw an opportunity to fill a gap in accessible, affordable fitness options with diversified programming and top-of-the-line equipment.”
