Britain does not top many global charts but when it comes to internet shopping, nobody beats us.
An analysis has found that the British spend a greater proportion of their income online than any other nationality.
The UK’s dedicated shopaholics burn through 8.8 per cent of their yearly income on ecommerce, comfortably beating our American cousins, who manage just 4.3 per cent. With US salaries comfortably higher than in Britain, however, Americans do not need to spend as much of their pay to get the same amount of goods.
The French spend 4.3 per cent of their income too. The Dutch are the second-biggest spenders at 4 per cent.
