NFL Week 18 Overreactions
Mackenzie Salmon breaks down the last week of the 2024 NFL regular season.
Sports Seriously
More than 17 weeks ago, the Green Bay Packers and Philadelphia Eagles opened their seasons against each other in Brazil. Now they’ll meet again, this time on U.S. soil and in the playoffs.
Green Bay is back as the No. 7 seed in the NFC, and is hoping to generate the same magic it did in the last season when the became the first seventh seed to win a playoff game. However, the mood in Green Bay isn’t all that great after losing to the Chicago Bears to end the regular season.
On the other side, Philadelphia comes into the matchup well-rested after sitting its starters last week. But concern remains for Jalen Hurts, who is still in concussion protocol. Can the starting quarterback return to get another victory over the Packers, or will Green Bay get revenge from its Week 1 game?

Lorenzo Reyes: Eagles 29, Packers 21
Although Jalen Hurts has been in concussion protocol, the Packers are going into this game with their own share of injuries. Saquon Barkley should be the difference maker, and, if the Packers load the box to try to stop him, Philadelphia should be able to exploit with the passing game down the field, even if Kenny Pickett is forced to start.
Tyler Dragon: Eagles 31, Packers 24
The Eagles are the most complete team in the NFC. Expect the Eagles to impose their will running the football with Saquon Barkley, and have some designed runs for Jalen Hurts. The Eagles finished the regular season with the No. 1 total defense in the league. Christian Watson’s season-ending knee injury is going to hurt Green Bay’s ability to push the ball downfield.
Jordan Mendoza: Eagles 27, Packers 23
Matt LaFleur knows how to call an offense in the postseason, it’s only a matter if his defense is able to contain the Eagles. Saquon Barkley ran wild in his debut game in Week 1, and he does it again the move Philadelphia into the divisional round.
