HARRISON COUNTY, Ohio — The year 2025 is set to bring significant changes to Harrison County, with a new commission member and ambitious plans for infrastructure projects throughout the community.
In 2024, the county commission initiated several infrastructure projects expected to be completed this year. A notable change announced on Wednesday involves a new approach to collaborating with the county engineer’s office, aiming to expedite road project timelines.
“We had a bid opening for a water project that we have going on,” Commissioner Dustin Corder said. “We signed a resolution to give the engineer permission to sign permits for county road use to let that process go a little smoother.”
The commission also aims to complete a multi-million dollar sewer infrastructure project in Freeport within the next 12 months.
“We’ve got some that we need to wrap up from 2024,” Corder said. “We have the Freeport sewer project still going on. We’re trying to close that up.
“And of course, we’ve got some minor things to wrap up with the county home, so a couple of projects we had going from last year that are still flowing into 2025 we hope to get wrapped up.”
The community is encouraged to stay informed as these developments unfold.
