ALABASTER, Ala. (WBRC) – The last-minute holiday shopping rush is in full swing at the Alabaster Promenade.
An influx of shoppers are filling up parking lots and creating long lines of traffic.
Near the Target and TJ-Max many cars made their way into the parking lot to make sure everything on their list is checked off.
And even with parking lots jammed and long lines of traffic some folks seem to not mind it.
“It wasn’t bad coming in but we are probably going to head to toward Birmingham so I think the traffic might get a little worse but so far its been smooth sailing,” Taylor Montgomery, a last minute shopper said.
It’s no surprise that area shopping centers like this one have seen a surge of people going from store to store.
“Be patient lines are long, cashiers are very busy and frustrated,” Sonja Farrington, another late shopper said.
As shoppers continue to search for those last-minute gifts, they say the one thing that made their experience better was seeing a law enforcement presence.
“It kind of gives a little bit of a sense of community that the police presence is out here and making sure everyone is safe,” Montgomery said.
Many of the folks say everyone seemed to be in good spirits while shopping this Christmas Eve.
