JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Many shoppers who needed to get final gifts before Christmas Day did just that on Christmas Eve at the Outlets of Mississippi in Pearl.
The outlets were open and in full swing as hundreds of shoppers passed through the different retail stores looking for bargains.
Shopper Teresa Hood said she was trying to find deals. She said, “Just trying to see, you know, what’s on sale that maybe I can afford. I know I’m looking for some stuff for my baby, and I gotta get a couple of things for some of my neighbors that I hang with.”
One shopper is knocking out her shopping early so she can get back home, but doesn’t mind coming out to shop on Christmas Eve.
Eva Burkhalter, another shopper said, “I like last minute [shopping]. Be out with the people and of course, I’ll be cooking at home this evening, so I got time to mess around and see what kind of deals I can find for the last minute.”
Holiday shoppers are not only looking forward to the gifts but to spend some quality time with family.
Jatarious Johnson said, “Just being with my family and friends… that’s about it. Along with my girlfriend for 12 years and her sister.”
As the day went on shopping traffic picked up as many people took advantage of those last-minute holiday deals.
