SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WSBT) — T’was the day before Christmas and all through South Bend, the Meijer aisles were packed with shoppers looking to spend.
“Procrastination is my thing just like stocking stuffers is what I’m looking for right now so that was our last what we’re finishing up right now,” said Audrey Plonski, Christmas shopper.
While stocking stuffers were a hot commodity, many shoppers tell WSBT 22 they usually wait until the last minute.
“We’re going between Michigan, Michigan, Michigan, and here and every time I just kind of forget until the last minute to get the last little bit of gifts,” said Megan Conway, finishing Christmas shopping.
But for some it’s not the norm, it just happens sometimes.
“Normally, I’m not like a last-minute shopping person. I normally try to do my shopping in the summertime so I would be done right about now, but unfortunately you know last-minute so here I am,” said Terraca Miller, shopping at Meijer.
While many shoppers were out clearing shelves or trying to pick from what’s left, Miller says lines have been moving smoothly.
“They have been packed, but the thing about it is the lines have been going very smoothly so I’ve been able to get in and get out so that’s a plus right there for me,” said Miller.
But there’s one thing in common for many shoppers – they’re all looking forward to spending the holidays with their family.
