Google Drive uploads just got faster: Watch videos instantly — Details – Technology News

Must read

Google has brought a new update for speeding up time while uploading videos. As reported by Android authority, the tech giant has bought an update which can enhance your user experience.

After bringing an update to its video player in October, Google will update the ability of playing videos in Google Drive. Let’s have a look at what the update means for you.

Google speeds up things!

So, what’s new in the latest update? Usually when you upload a video file to Drive, you have the option to always download it later. You can also get a 1:1 copy of your original. It’s  just like the way you can download from cloud storage. But in order to offer its built-in player, Drive also needs to transcode your video into a copy. The aim is to make the copy more suitable for streaming ( like YouTube does when you upload your videos there). However, it could take some time to transcoding to finish . This could be quite frustrating. But now Google claims that Drive is able to begin playing your videos as soon as they’re uploaded.

The new update will allow you to upload any video and play simultaneously. Also, the transcription speed has also improved.

Other major updates

In other news,  Gemini the Google AI assistant has brought a new update. Google will add Gemini to ‘Files’. This addition will integrate Gemini’s upcoming “Ask about this PDF” feature in the files. Now it can detect when a PDF file is opened on your device’s screen.

In addition to this you can ask questions about the content of the PDF.  Moreover, this feature allows you to get quick answers without the need to scroll through multiple pages of any PDFs.
