Opposition parties mismanaged civic infrastructure in state: Mann – The Tribune

Must read

On the final day of campaigning for the civic polls, CM Bhagwant Mann launched a scathing attack on opponents, including the Congress, BJP and SAD, accusing them of mismanaging the state’s civic infrastructure.

Urging people to vote for AAP, Mann promised comprehensive urban development if his party won the polls. The party has already secured 15 of the 60 seats in the Patiala MC with its candidates being elected unopposed.

Addressing a roadshow in Tripuri, Mann said, “You gave us a historic mandate during the Assembly elections. AAP won all nine Patiala seats and formed the government with a massive majority. I am confident you will support us again.”

Mann recalled living in Patiala from 1997 to 2003. “I know every corner of this city. My village is not far from here. We will restore Patiala’s old glory and elevate its stature even further,” he said.

Mann announced that India’s first boutique hotel, ‘Ranwas’, would be inaugurated at Qila Mubarak on January 15. He said it would attract high-profile events, which were typically held in Rajasthan cities like Jaipur and Udaipur.

Two Patiala MLAs ignored?

Accompanying Mann were state AAP chief Aman Arora, working president Sharry Kalsi, Cabinet Ministers Varinder Goyal, Dr Balbir Singh and several MLAs. However, MLAs Ajitpal Singh Kohli and Chetan Singh Jauramajra, who were walking near the CM’s cavalcade, were not invited onto his vehicle. It was after someone in public urged the CM to name the party MLAs that he made a reference of Kohli and Jauramajra.
