For UNLV, the winds of change are blowing. Former head coach Barry Odom has departed for Purdue, leaving wide receivers coach Del Alexander to step in as interim head coach for this game. However, the Rebels have already set their sights on the future, securing a new head coach for the 2025 season.
On Cal’s side, the Golden Bears are navigating a few bumps in the road. Offensive coordinator Mike Bloesch is expected to miss the game following the announcement of Bryan Harsin as his replacement. To add to their challenges, starting quarterback Fernando Mendoza has entered the transfer portal, leaving Cal to adapt on the fly for their bowl appearance.
