Day three of the Nedrose Tournament was loaded with two semifinal matchups and two games in the consolation bracket to determine who would play for fifth place and who would play for seventh.

The seventh place game will be today at 1:30 p.m. while the fifth place game will follow that at roughly 3 p.m.

The third placed contest will be at 4:30 p.m. while the championship game will be today at 6 p.m. at Nedrose High School.

Berthold 61, Surrey 49

Surrey started the semifinal with solid three point shooting and high energy defense and led after one quarter 14-10 over Berthold.

The Lady Bombers were patient and kept their focus on the plan for the game. Berthold let the high energy from the start bleed off and then worked the inside game and rebounding to chip at the Mustangs.

Midway through the second quarter of play, the Bombers began to make headway on the scoreboard as Surrey started missing shots. With just under three and a half minutes to play until the half, Berthold led 22-16 and kept that tempo until they had a 30-23 lead at the break.

With the adjustments made and the tempo set, the Lady Bombers and Mustangs continued the game as it had been going to the end.

Berthold will face Garrison in the championship game while Surrey will face Nedrose in the third place contest.
