It’s been a year of milestones and major developments

Must read

After a transformative year in our community – from the Amazon warehouse coming online in Pasco to Costco’s decision to open a warehouse in Richland, we’re pleased to present our final edition of 2024 to you.

In everything we do, the Tri-Cities Area Journal of Business strives to help the Mid-Columbia region build a stronger economy and a more vibrant community. Our team works hard to provide news you can use, alongside the regular breaking and in-depth reporting you turn to us for.

Inside you’ll find our 12-page Energy specialty publication. It features news and columns from industry experts, and it is a terrific way to catch up on what feels like a fire hose of news related to the region’s energy sector.

This month also is the debut of our first Book of Lists publication.

We launched our business-focused lists 15 months ago and each month since the Journal has run the lists – this edition includes three – to showcase top companies, places or projects, ranked by a variety of criteria.

We know our Book of Lists will become a valuable resource to the Tri-Cities business community.

All print subscribers will receive a copy of the 45-page book by mail before the end of the year. It’s just too big to tuck into the monthly Journal.

Each list is available for sale on our website for $10 each in both Adobe PDF and Microsoft Excel formats. You also can buy a Book of Lists at our office for $24.95, but it’s certainly more economical to subscribe to the Journal.

December is always a good time of year to reflect on all that came before. We launched our first live business events this year – one to honor the Tri-Cities’ up and coming Young Professionals in May and the other the Best Places to Work in the Mid-Columbia, as ranked by employees, in November. By all accounts, they were wildly successful, and we’re excited to present a new one in 2025 – People of Influence on March 13.

This event will recognize enterprising people who by their leadership individually and through their business have been influential in the business community during the past 12 months. Does someone you know come to mind as an influencer? Nominations are now open.

Finally, and most importantly, we’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support of the Journal. We are grateful to have such loyal readers. On behalf of the Journal team, we wish you a prosperous and joyful new year.
