Woodstock voters say yes to water infrastructure upgrades

Must read

WOODSTOCK, Vt. (WCAX) – Residents in Woodstock voted overwhelmingly to move forward with a major revamp of the town’s aging water infrastructure.

After recently approving the acquisition of the Woodstock Aqueduct Company, residents have now voted to buy the tank and reservoirs that feed the system, and to fund millions of dollars in upgrades to existing water lines that supply water to the village.

The property and infrastructure projects will cost the town more than $8 million.

The upgrades are expected to improve water flow in town.

There is currently a moratorium on new hookups to the system because of water pressure issues.

The current system serves roughly 900 residential units and nearly 100 hydrants.
