CENTERBURG — A Centerburg Local Schools pavement project is expected to go out to bid in early January, forecasting district-wide infrastructure improvements for the 2025-26 academic year.

Both the elementary and middle/high school parking lots will see improvements, superintendent Ryan Gallwitz said.

The elementary’s south parking lot will be replaced with a new asphalt layer and a bigger and new route for student pick-up/drop-off farther west.

“This will help get cars off the street,” Gallwitz said.

Handicap parking is also being moved to the front entrance of the building with ADA-compliant ramps, Gallwitz said.

The middle/high school parking lot between the Church of Christ will be resurfaced, Gallwitz.

The expected price range for this project is between $400,000 too $450,000, Gallwitz said.

Gallwitz said the bid opening (deadline) will be Jan. 8 at 2:00. The school board can award the winning bid at the Jan. 13 board meeting. Construction would likely begin in the summer.
