Pixel Screenshots is getting a major Gboard integration with the December 2024 Feature Drop. Ahead of that, the required Pixel Screenshots version is here with some UI tweaks, auto-filters, and Circle to Search integration, but the “Show suggestions from your screenshots in other apps” functionality is not yet live.
Version 0.24.433.15 of Pixel Screenshots is rolling out today via Google Play. After updating, a new model is downloaded, but the major feature is not yet live. However, strings provide more details on what to expect.
Once rolled out, there will be a new “Get suggestions in Gboard” settings toggle. Google explains how you can: “See movie, music, product, and other text suggestions from your screenshots when searching in relevant apps.”
What’s live with this update are UI tweaks to Pixel Screenshots details page. The Share, Edit, and Reminder buttons have been moved to the top-right corner. The space under the image is now used for the deep link (YouTube, Chrome, etc.), while you now get various things to search for.
After a device reboot, we’re now also seeing the Circle to Search integration. This lets you select just one part of a capture and “Save” that to Pixel Screenshots. This badged shortcut appears next to “Save,” with a “Selection saved” message that lets you quickly “View” at the bottom.
Update: After leaving our Pixel 9 connected to power for a few hours, the carousel of filters above the grid of screenshots is now available. The full list includes: Articles, Events, Flight info, Lists, Social media, Movies, Music, Notes, Places, Product info, Profile info, Promos, Receipts, Recipes, Tracking info, Movies / TV, and Videos.
Each is accompanied by an icon, and you just tap the filter again to get back to everything. These auto-filters also appear when you start a search.
