Oregon vs. Penn State score: Live updates, college football scores, 2024 Big Ten Championship Game coverage

Must read

Oregon has remained steady in a season full of surprises across college football. Penn State will try to change that Saturday in the Big Ten Championship Game.

The No. 1 Ducks (12-0) and No. 3 Nittany Lions (11-1) meet in Indianapolis for the first time this season with a trophy and a first-round bye in the College Football Playoff on the line. Penn State unexpectedly backed their way into the title game following Michigan’s shocking upset of Ohio State in the regular-season finale. Oregon, which defeated Ohio State earlier this season, is destined to at least host a playoff game in the first round. A loss would likely drop the Ducks no further than seventh in the rankings, meaning a home game is assured.

Penn State is seeking its first Big Ten championship since 2016 when it defeated Wisconsin 38-31. It would also arguably be the biggest win in James Franklin’s 11 years as coach because of the significance of claiming a playoff spot for the first time in school history. Penn State also hasn’t defeated a No. 1 team since 1990. Meanwhile, the Ducks can ruffle the feathers of the Big Ten’s stalwarts by winning the title in their debut season in the Big Ten.
