The Frewsburg girls soccer team has been the team to beat for quite a while in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 3 and this year may have been the best yet. Not only did the Bears go undefeated for another league title, but over the year Frewsburg outscored division opponents 92-0.
With that dominance Frewsburg received the league’s top awards as senior Ava Jimerson led Section VI in scoring with 43 goals and 17 assists to earn the Offensive Player of the Year and senior Kealy Caflisch was the heart of a defense that did not concede a league goal while posting 13 clean sheets across all competitions to be selected as the Defensive Player of the Year.
Joining Jimerson and Caflisch on the league’s First Team are the heart of the Bears midfield, senior Taytum Jimerson and sophomore Audrey Eckwahl. Taytum Jimerson orchestrated the offense with a team-high 25 assists and 17 goals, while Eckwahl provided another 29 goals and 17 assists.
Frewsburg added another defender and midfielder to the Second Team with seniors Kaylee Cappa and Brionna Dumaine and freshman Elysse Gruber took a spot as goalkeeper. Londyn Pigman was selected as the Frewsburg Individual Sportsmanship Award winner.
Chautauqua Lake followed Frewsburg in the standings, earning three First-Team selections in seniors Jada Cole and Paige Zarpentine and junior Lucy Gates. Cole paced the Eagles attack with 15 goals and five assists, Zarpentine provided another three goals and Gates backstopped Chautauqua Lake to four clean sheets.
Chautauqua Lake also received Second-Team selections in freshman Elianna Ludwig and sophomore Avery Cannon, while Charlotte Emhardt was the Individual Sportsmanship Award winner.
North Collins had two First-Team selections in senior Breanna Kaczanowski scoring 13 goals and eight assists and sophomore Izzy Contro providing seven goals and five assists. The Eagles added senior Miranda Bartosik and sophomore Hannah Jasinski to the Second Team, while Brooke Gable was the Individual Sportsmanship Award winner.
Marissa Grisanti represented Silver Creek/Forestville on the First Team after scoring 16 goals and six assists. The Black Knights added freshman Abby Cook and sophomore Kaydence Ziolkowski to the Second Team, while Chymerah Genovese was the Individual Sportsmanship Award winner.
Westfield/Brocton junior Sophia Wolfe scored a goal and an assist to make First Team. Then the Wolverines received Second-Team selections for junior Olivia Wolfe and sophomore Makayley Nelson, while Wolfe also was the Individual Sportsmamship Award winner.
Dunkirk senior Lauryn McCracken rounded out the First Team after scoring 12 goals and four assists. Celeste Bautista represents the Marauders on the Second Team while also receiving the Individual Sportsmanship Award as Dunkirk also earned the Team Sportsmanship Award.
