Motocaddy reports strong on-course sales growth

Must read

Motocaddy leads the way in on-course electric trolley sales in the UK this year according to new figures released by Golf Datatech.

Green grass retailers around the country have sold the brand’s electric trolleys ahead of its competitors with 22% more Motocaddy electric trolleys sold year-on-year (YOY) through on-course shops compared to the same period last year.

Motocaddy is also lead the market share figures for both sales value and units sold (YTD), with its unit share growing significantly through on-course shops from 44.9% to 51.1%.

The success of the new Motocaddy SE trolley has helped fuel this growth. Since its launch in April, the entry-level model has held the position as the UK’s top-selling electric trolley through green grass retailers, claiming an 18.5% unit share, with 19% more units sold than the next closest model.

To further support its retailers, Motocaddy has extended its ‘GO ELECTRIC’ multi-channel S  marketing campaign with two new videos, plus social media content highlighting the benefits of using an electric trolley. These join extensive existing marketing materials available through the Motocaddy Resource Centre (www.motocaddy.media), which provides stockists with access to product images, point of sale, digital assets, instruction manuals, videos, and detailed product information to aid sales.

“In a year where the golf industry has once again had to navigate challenging off-course issues, including the ever-changing weather and a cost of living crisis, our support of the green grass retailer is stronger than ever to ensure our stockists have everything they need to help drive sales,” said Motocaddy Sales Director, Steve Morris.

“Reaction to both the SE and next-generation M-Series with cable-free battery has been nothing short of astonishing, and we’d like to thank our retailers for getting behind our range and supporting us once again this year. The SE has revolutionised the entry-level electric trolley market and our retail partners deserve the credit for helping it become the best-selling model since its launch,” he added.

As well as being the top choice for electric trolleys, on-course retailers have also cemented Motocaddy as the preferred brand for push carts.

Year-to-date, the brand is leading the way in market share (both sales value and units sold in the push trolley category) with a 44% market share (sales value), more than double that of its nearest competitor (19.2%). The Motocaddy CUBE remains the UK’s No.1 push trolley through green grass, with over three times as many units sold to consumers as the nearest competitor.

Stockists can also take advantage of Motocaddy’s B2B online trade portal (trade.motocaddy.com), which has recently recorded its 7,500th order. With the ability to place orders outside of conventional office hours, the user-friendly system remains the only system of its type within the electric trolley category.
