Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce holds Ribbon Cutting for Lilac City Paranormal

ROCHESTER — The Chamber held a ribbon cutting ceremony for new member Lilac City Paranormal on Oct. 28, at 15 Garfield St., in Farmington. Lilac City Paranormal is a small, dedicated group of volunteers, led by a Psychic Medium, concerned with getting souls moved on to their next destination with dignity and respect. They do historical research prior to investigation and use field-tested techniques to document evidence. They do not charge for their services, but donations for equipment are appreciated. First Seacoast Bank to host Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce Holiday Business After Hours

ROCHESTER — The Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce’s announced that First Seacoast Bank will host a Holiday Business After Hours on Wednesday, Dec. 11, from 5:30 -7 p.m. This special event will take place at First Seacoast Bank’s Rochester branch located at 17 Wakefield St., Rochester.

First Seacoast Bank invites chamber members to join them for this festive holiday Business After Hours to enjoy holiday cheer while networking with fellow chamber members, and to learn more about the products and services the bank provides.  

Those attending should plan to bring plenty of business cards for networking and door prizes. Hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be provided.

Leone, McDonnell & Roberts purchases tax credits in support of Great Bay Services

DOVER — The Certified Public Accounting firm of Leone, McDonnell & Roberts, PA announced its support of Great Bay Services in the form of New Hampshire Community Development Finance Authority (CDFA) tax credits.

In June 2024, the CDFA announced $6.6 Million in tax credit awards to 20 New Hampshire nonprofits including Great Bay Services in Dover. According to the CDFA website, businesses with New Hampshire tax liability support awarded projects by purchasing the credits, resulting in the nonprofit receiving a donation and the company receiving a tax credit against that contribution.

The funds will have a significant impact on initiatives that advance the mission at Great Bay Services. The capacity-building resources will be used to purchase 12 wheelchair accessible minivans to meet the transportation needs of their clients in Rockingham and Strafford County. By changing the model of how clients are transported, it will build the organizations capacity to support 36 people with disabilities with reliable, safe access to community activities such as volunteer projects, outdoor walks, employment, education, and entertainment.

Monetary donations being collected to provide Thanksgiving meals to local families in need

ROCHESTER — Three area nonprofits are working together to host the second annual Thanksgiving distribution event that raised nearly $20,000 and benefited more than 1,000 local families last year.

Community Action Partnership of Strafford County, SHARE Fund and Grace Community Church are partnering to seek the public’s support to ensure a memorable holiday for recipients. Local Bank and community partner MVSB (Meredith Village Savings Bank) will match financial contributions received up to $11,500.

During the 2023 distribution event, families were welcomed by nearly 70 volunteers ready to distribute holiday meal essentials the days before Thanksgiving at the SHARE Fund location in Rochester. Community members made their way through a line to pick up everything from canned corn and stuffing to frozen turkeys to prepare a home-cooked meal and no one was turned away.

“With rising household and grocery costs, we know the need will be even greater this year,” said Marcus Weeks, MVSB President.  “We are very proud to offer our financial and volunteer support to help these phenomenal organizations do what they do best – taking care of our community members.”

BNH participates in Statewide #NHBanksGiveBack month of giving effort

LACONIA — During the month of October, Bank of New Hampshire participated in #NHBanksGiveBack, a volunteer celebration organized annually by the NH Bankers Association.

 #NHBanksGiveBack is a coordinated month of service where NH Bankers Association’s member banks are asked to engage in one or more of their regularly scheduled community service efforts during the month of October. 

Bank of New Hampshire proudly engaged in a range of charitable activities during the #NHBanksGiveBack campaign, with a total of 24 dedicated volunteers contributing 86 volunteer hours. In addition to contributing valuable time, BNH also provided $19,750 in financial support to various initiatives across the state. Bank of New Hampshire’s commitment to making a positive impact on communities goes beyond banking. The organizations served by BNH across New Hampshire in October included the following:
