Thanksgiving is quickly approaching, and so is Black Friday, the day afterwards when bargain buyers hunt for discounts.
Here’s when some chains and a sampling of local stores will be open.
White Oaks Mall
The mall will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. On Black Friday, it will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Penny Lane Gifts
The shop at 2901 S. MacArthur Blvd. will be open on Black Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Sangamon Antique Mall
The store at 3050 E. Sangamon Ave. will hold normal hours on Black Friday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
SCHEELS
The store at 3801 S. MacArthur Blvd. will be open on Black Friday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
District 23 Boutique
The store at 830 S. Grand Ave. W., will be open on Black Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Walmart
Walmart stores will be closed on Thanksgiving, the company told USA TODAY. Stores will open at 6 a.m. on Black Friday.
Home Depot, Lowes, Ace Hardware
Home Depot stores will be closed on Thanksgiving, the company confirmed to USA TODAY. The stores will open at 6 a.m. on Black Friday. Stores will close at their regular times.
Lowe’s stores will also be closed on Thanksgiving and open at 6 a.m. on Black Friday, the company told USA TODAY.
Ace Hardware stores are independently owned and operated, so hours vary by location. However, the company said that a majority of their stores will be closed on Thanksgiving.
Costco
Costco warehouses will be closed on Thanksgiving and open from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Black Friday.
Kohl’s
Kohl’s stores will be closed on Thanksgiving this year, the company confirmed to USA TODAY. The company will “kick off a season of in-store events, sweepstakes and giveaways that will run through December” on Black Friday, the retailer said in a news release.
TJ Maxx, Marshall’s and HomeGoods
All three stores will be closed on Thanksgiving but will open at 7 a.m. on Black Friday, the company told USA TODAY.
JCPenney
JCPenney stores will be closed on Thanksgiving but stores will open at 5 a.m. local time on Black Friday, the company told USA TODAY. Closing times for the stores will vary by location.
