Walmart Slashes Google Nest Learning Thermostat by Over $100 in Early Black Friday Deal

Must read

Everyone is aware of rising prices. In general, the cost of living has skyrocketed in recent years with energy prices being one of the biggest expenses. That’s why millions have adopted smart thermostats to help keep track of their energy usage, and more importantly, reduce their spending. A great option to do this is the Google Nest Learning Thermostat (3rd Gen) for $145 at Walmart. Typically found for $249, a sizable $104 discount has been applied, bringing the cost down to a much more accessible price point.

Utilizing built-in sensors and a smart algorithm, it adjusts the temperature depending on your schedule and positioning throughout the house on a usual day. Available in white, the third-gen Google thermostat features a larger LCD display than previous models alongside better resolution as well as a far-field sensor for viewing time and temperature details. While not compatible with Apple Homekit, it does support Alexa and Google Assistant.

During her review, CNET’s Megan Wollerton found the third-gen Google Nest Thermostat to be “no longer the revolutionary product it was in 2011, but the Google-owned brand has managed to maintain its status as a smart-climate-control leader in spite of the rapidly changing landscape.”

She added: “Its support for Google Assistant and Alexa voice commands, improved design and new Farsight, Family Accounts and Home/Away Assist features only add to its already impressive performance and ease-of-use via the smartly-designed Nest app.” All of this was considered at its $249 price point, so with the added discount it’s much more value for the money.
