Creative Artists Agency has found a new top finance officer from outside its ranks.
The Century City-based talent representation giant has hired Asurion executive John Storey as its chief financial officer, the agency said on Wednesday. Storey will succeed Carol Sawdye, who had overseen CAA‘s finances since taking over the role three years ago after the promotion of Jim Burtson to president of the agency.
“As CAA executes on its vision to best serve our clients by expanding into new business areas and international territories, we are excited to welcome John to our team,” stated Burtson. “John is a proven leader with an exceptional track record of strategic planning and operational improvement. His accomplishments in building for growth match well with our ambitious goals.”
Storey spent nearly two decades at Asurion, an IT and tech protection plan company, and previously held a role as an investment banker at Robertson Stephens and Alex. Brown & Sons.
“CAA is as admired for its market-leading position and innovation in the industry as it is for its uniquely powerful culture of collaboration and connection in service of its clients,” added Storey. “The company is clear in its vision to create limitless opportunities for its clients and employees, and I look forward to playing a role in CAA’s continued growth to help ensure that vision.”
Sawdye, who joined CAA in 2021 from PwC network, is exiting the agency.
