New leaders at KID smART, Child Care Association of Louisiana

KID smART, a New Orleans nonprofit focused on providing public school students with greater access to arts-rich education, has added four members to its board of directors.

Seth Levine is a partner at Jones Walker, where his practice focuses primarily on the petrochemical and energy industries.

Jeremy Jones is executive vice president and head of specialty lending at Hancock Whitney Bank.

Keshara Powell is a student at the International High School of New Orleans and a graduate of the Bloomberg Arts Internship program.

Dr. Erin Hymel is owner of Dentistry with Heart and a clinical assistant professor of operative dentistry at LSU Health Sciences Center.

Tara Emery has been named as president of the Child Care Association of Louisiana.

Emery is the‎ owner‎ and‎ director‎ of‎ London‎ Bridge‎ Early‎ Learning Centers, which has three locations in East Baton Rouge and Ascension parishes. She also operates two microcenters in partnership with the East Rouge Parish school system, one at the Baton Rouge Center for the Visual and Performing Arts and one at Westminster Elementary School.

Stacey Byes-Byarse was named vice president of the association and Jennifer Stevenson is secretary.

Byes-Byarse, also known as “Coach Stacey B,” is the founder and CEO of It Takes a Village Academy I of New Orleans, It Takes a Village Academy II of Jefferson Parish and Geaux Academy of Slidell. She has been in the early learning field for more than 20 years.

Stevenson is‎ the‎ owner‎ of The Garden of Knowledge in Washington Parish and has been a teacher for more than 10 years.
