The streets of Little Italy continue to thrive with exciting happenings! Whether you’re looking for a place to celebrate Fleet Week, do your holiday shopping, or show your friends and family around America’s Finest City, there is something for everyone to enjoy in this neighborhood.
Fleet Week Concert Series
Experience a memorable evening of music in Little Italy with the Fleet Week Concert Series! As part of the annual Fleet Week festivities, this concert series honors our military service members with an impressive lineup of performances. On Sunday, Nov. 3, the Navy Band Southwest Rock Band will take the stage, followed by the Marine Band San Diego Sound Strike and Hot Brass on Monday, Nov. 4, with both performances taking place at 6 p.m. These talented musicians will deliver powerful renditions of classic American hits, patriotic anthems, and modern favorites. Notably, Nov. 4 also commemorates the birthday of Gunnery Sergeant John Basilone, a Medal of Honor recipient and World War II hero. Basilone was the only enlisted Marine in the war to earn both the Medal of Honor and the Navy Cross, demonstrating his heroism at the Battle of Guadalcanal. This family-friendly event offers the perfect opportunity to support our military and celebrate a true American hero while enjoying an evening of live music. Don’t miss this lively tribute to those who serve!
