There’s no cut-and-dry definition of a small business: The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) mainly evaluates them based on monetary figures, like total sales and revenue, and size, meaning how many employees work for the company. But exact criteria vary by industry, so identifying a small business is a “you know it when you see it” situation. And during the holidays, supporting them is crucial — the majority of small businesses rely on holiday shopping for at least one quarter of their annual revenue, according to the SBA.
