As the holidays approach, I love finding good sales to check out. And this November is a great month for sales. Here are a few I recommend:

*Check out the 41st annual Holiday Market where you can find deals at First United Pentecostal Church, 7612 Charlotte Pike in Nashville.

This churchwide sale is a huge “Trash and Treasure” spread of clothing for the whole family, toys, books, holiday décor, baked goods, craft items and a room full of useful kitchen and home items – plus, tools, furniture and yard items.

This big sale, which raises money for the church’s local and international outreach, takes place at the church (inside and outside) from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on Nov. 22-23. Details: see  www.firstchurchnashville.net/events.html

*St. David’s Episcopal Church will host its annual “Best Ever Holiday Bazaar” from 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16 at the church at 6501 Pennywell Dr. in West Nashville.

The sale, which always includes homemade holiday decorations as well as baked goods and hand-crafted items and frozen entrees made by church members, raises money for the church’s outreach ministry.  For details go to saintdavidsnashville.org/.

*American Pearl Fall Friends and Family Sale is set for Nov. 12-14. The Nashville-based American Pearl Company’s inventory includes thousands of designs, traditional and contemporary, and using cultured and natural earls in many colors and shapes.

Retail prices range from $40 into the thousands but this sale offers almost everything at half price. The sale, which also includes a $14 promotional pearl bracelet, takes place at the American Pearl Co. office at 2120 Crestmoor Rd., Suite 3020 at The Mall at Green Hills. No checks are accepted. Hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Nov. 12, and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Nov. 13 and 14. Details: (615) 298-4111.

*Nashville Flea Market takes place at Fairgrounds Nashville for one weekend each month with hundreds of vendors setting up booths inside and outside. Upcoming dates include Nov. 22-24 and Dec. 20-22. Hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on Sundays. Parking at the Fairgrounds is $10 and is cash only. Details: (615) 862-5016 and thefairgrounds@nashville.gov

*The F&H Liquidation sale takes place every other Saturday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. (Nov. 2, 16 and 30) at 1931 Air Lane Dr. (near Briley Parkway and the Nashville airport). This large warehouse sale features everything from indoor and outdoor furniture, as well as clothing, linens and all sizes of TVs and various sundries including food, coffee, trash bags, etc.

The discounted inventory (all new), which comes from major retailers and big warehouse clubs, is always changing and there is plenty of it. Check out the website at www.fhliquidation.com

*If you are looking for furniture or home décor, you need to know about Sara Sells, a locally based warehouse sale that takes place one day a month in a warehouse in College Grove (southeastern Williamson County). Owner Sara Young started this business in 2016 and offers shoppers the look and quality of RH, West Elm and Pottery Barn at Rooms To Go prices. (usually 40-60 percent of retail)

Young says the secret to the low prices is volume and her low overhead. Some of the  more popular items are upholstered sofas, chairs, farm tables and stools. But as Young says, “We used to be able to identify our ‘popular’  items, but now that is really hard to pinpoint. Some people are buying one piece and others for an entire home.”

SaraSells original location is a 12,000-square-foot warehouse at 8436 Horton Highway in College Grove. The company has since opened warehouse stores in locations outside Memphis and Birmingham.  The next sale in College Grove is 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Nov. 2 or you can shop online from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on Nov. 3. The December in-person sale is Dec. 7.
