Monday Night Football scores, live updates: Ravens take on Buccaneers, Chargers play Cardinals in MNF doubleheader

Must read

The Baltimore Ravens have been a buzzsaw over the past month of the season during a four-game win streak, and in Week 7, they’re headed to Tampa Bay to take on a 4-2 Buccaneers team that is looking to stay ahead of the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC South.

The Buccaneers are averaging 38 points per game over the last three weeks, and they stuck 51 on the Saints in New Orleans last week in a blowout win. The Ravens are the No. 1 offense in the NFL, averaging more than 450 yards per game. These are the No. 3 and No. 4 scoring offenses in the league, so expect fireworks in Tampa Bay on Monday night.

The second game of the night has the 3-2 Los Angeles Chargers trying to stay in the AFC playoff chase at the 2-4 Arizona Cardinals. The Chargers are coming off a win over the Denver Broncos in Week 6, while the Cardinals have lost three of their last four games. But Marvin Harrison Jr., who sustained a concussion last week, was a full participant in practice and didn’t have an injury designation heading into Monday Night Football.

Live57 updates

  • Ravens-Bucs: Touchdown Tampa

Baker Mayfield finds a wide open Rachaad White, who waltzes into the end zone untouched.

Ravens lead is cut to 41-31 with 1:58 to play.

  • Chargers-Cards: Kyler Murray sprints for a go-ahead TD!

Kyler Murray scrambles for 44-yard Arizona touchdown run, and just like that the Cardinals are back in front.

    It’s a 14-9 lead.

  • Ravens-Bucs: Tampa scores, gets onside recovery

Baker Mayfield and Co. march down the field quickly for a 9-play, 70-yard scoring drive capped by Bucky Irving’s 1-yard TD.

Then the Bucs manage to recover their onside kick. And they’re still fighting in this one!

It’s 41-24 Ravens with under 4 minutes to play.

  • Chargers-Cards: Bolts take the lead with a FG

Cameron Dicker caps a long Chargers drive with a 28-yard field goal after the offense stalls out at the 10-yard line. Dicker has scored all nine points for LA tonight.

LA takes a 9-7 lead late in the 3rd quarter.

  • Touchdown Ravens!

This Baltimore offense can’t be stopped. This time it’s a pass to Derrick Henry for a 13-yard touchdown.

That makes FIVE TD passes for Lamar Jackson.

The rout continues in Tampa. It’s a 41-18 Baltimore lead.

  • Ravens-Bucs: Derrick Henry breaks a big run

The Ravens RB is off to the races again, this time with QB Lamar Jackson laying a block.

  • Chargers-Cards: Arizona stopped on 4th down

The Cardinals bring in backup QB Clayton Tune to try a QB sneak on both 3rd and 1 and 4th and 1. He gets stuffed both times, and the Chargers take over on downs near midfield.

  • Ravens-Bucs: Touchdown, Tampa

Finally, the Buccaneers have found the end zone again. Baker Mayfield hit Rachaad White for an 11-yard touchdown. They converted the 2-point conversion, too, so Baltimore’s lead is now 34-18.

  • Ravens-Bucs: Bucs take over after fumble

Well, there’s the first slip of the night for Baltimore. Lamar Jackson threw it back to Zay Flowers, who dropped it for the fumble and the Buccaneers recovered. They initially ran it back for a touchdown, but that play was called back.

So Baker Mayfield will take over at the Baltimore 30. If a comeback is going to happen, they’ll need a touchdown here quick.

  • Chargers-Cardinals: Chargers forced to punt out of the break

The Chargers’ first drive out of halftime started out promising, but a holding penalty and a sack pushed them way back and eventually forced them to punt. So the Cardinals will take over inside their own 10.

  • Ravens-Bucs: Baltimore up 34-10 after 3

The Ravens have the ball and are driving yet again with a 24-point lead in Tampa. They’re just 15 minutes away from a fifth straight win.

  • Ravens-Bucs: Baltimore adds another TD

This one is about done. The Ravens lead 34-10 now after their latest touchdown, set up by Derrick Henry’s massive run.

That’s 34 unanswered points now for Baltimore.

  • Ravens-Bucs: Henry takes off for 81

Derrick Henry just pulled out an 81-yard run up the sidelines for the Ravens on their first play of the drive. 81 yards. The Ravens are absolutely locked in right now.

  • Ravens-Bucs: Mayfield sacked again

That was now the fifth straight scoreless drive for the Bucs after Baker Mayfield was brought down in the backfield for another sack. The Ravens will take over again with a shot to extend their lead even more.

  • Ravens-Bucs: Deep shot to Rashod Bateman puts Baltimore in full control

What a throw. Baltimore may have just iced the game with a 49-yard touchdown pass from Lamar Jackson to Rashod Bateman. Facing second-and-17 from midfield, the Ravens did not opt for a conservative play to get closer to the chains.

Instead, Jackson unloaded with a strike to Bateman from beyond midfield that a streaking Bateman caught in stride for the score. That’s now 27 unanswered points for a 27-10 Ravens lead midway through the third quarter.

  • Chargers-Cardinals: Arizona up 7-6 at half

The Cardinals sacked Justin Herbert on third down, which set up another 50-yard field goal from Cameron Dicker. The Cardinals will take a one-point lead into halftime.

  • Chargers-Cardinals: Chargers driving after wild catch from Palmer

Somehow, Joshua Palmer managed to get both feet down here. The Chargers are driving now, trying to score before halftime.

  • Ravens-Bucs: Chase McLaughlin hits the upright

Tampa Bay’s first drive of the half ended with a 55-yard field goal attempt by Chase McLaughlin into the wind. He had the distance, but missed when the ball bounced off the right upright. Ravens maintain a 20-10 lead.

  • Ravens-Bucs: Baltimore’s Marlon Humphrey ruled out

Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey went to the locker room before halftime and will not return. The Ravens have ruled him out with a knee injury.

  • Ravens-Bucs: Baltimore opens second half with Justin Tucker FG

The Ravens were in trouble on their first drive of the second half with a botched snap putting them in third-and-26 near midfield. But they salvaged the drive with an 18-yard pass from Lamar Jackson to Justice Hill to get into field goal range.

Justin Tucker paid the effort off with a 52-yard field goal to extend Baltimore’s lead to 20-10.
