Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman’s status in Game 6 of the National League Championship Series appears questionable against the New York Mets.
Freeman was not named in the starting lineup when it was announced Sunday afternoon, with Max Muncy penciled in as his replacement at first base.
Freeman was not in the starting lineup for Game 4 in New York but was in the lineup for Game 5 on Friday.
“He just kind of ultimately felt, we felt that giving him another day (off) is best for him,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Sunday. “… He took batting practice yesterday and felt fine but just doesn’t feel like himself so we just felt that potentially another day would help.”
