There are a couple procurement opportunities that might have fallen off your radar in the end-of-the-year rush. Here are just a few recent postings that piqued our interest.
The first is a request for proposals (RFP) issued by the California State University (CSU) Chancellor’s Office for some new accessibility verification software. Equal access to government and education systems has been a priority for many organizations as more critical services go online.
The RFP, released Oct. 15, calls for a vendor capable of supplying learning management system accessibility checker software, which — as the name implies — will be used to “address course materials’ accessibility within the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS)” to better comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
“The CSU is seeking a solution for an accessibility checker/tool that integrates with Instructure’s Canvas Learning Management System (LMS). This tool is intended to automate tasks associated with scanning content, highlighting deficiencies, and recommending fixes,” the RFP reads.
The CSU system is the largest in the nation, with 23 campuses and 63,000 faculty and staff that serve an estimated 450,000 students, according to its website.
Interested vendors can submit questions until 12 p.m. Oct. 23. Proposals are due through the CSUBUY system or mail by 12 p.m. Nov. 12. The point of contact for this solicitation is Cliff Lowe.
The second RFP comes from San Bernardino County on behalf of Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) for Citrix infrastructure upgrades.
The solicitation, also published Oct. 15, seeks a vendor to “provide an upgrade to ARMC’s Citrix Infrastructure” as part of a five-year contract.
“ARMC currently utilizes a Citrix environment to run and access applications using a server instead of having the applications installed on each user’s local hard drive,” the RFP reads. “Citrix is ARMC’s Virtual Desktop and Application platform that we use to deliver ARMC content to our staff so that they can use our technologies such as the Epic electronic health system in a mobile and secure fashion.”
ARMC is a 456-bed facility with a Level 1 trauma center and the second-busiest emergency department in the state, according to the solicitation.
The deadline to submit questions is 4 p.m. Oct. 28, and proposals are due by 4 p.m. Nov. 8 with an award expected later that month. The point of contact for this solicitation is Michael Williams.
Lastly, the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) has put out a quick-turnaround request for quotations (RFQ) for the renewal of Talend-Qlik software. Little background information was provided with this solicitation, but information about how to submit a quote can be found here.
