The Fredonia-Pomfret Democratic Association has endorsed Mike Lee for the position of town of Pomfret councilperson. Lee is seeking the council seat vacated by the resignation of Democrat Brett Christy.
He is a Fredonia High School graduate. He attended Hiram College in Ohio and began his professional career in the Cleveland area. He was awarded the Most Treasured Volunteer award by the City Club of Cleveland for his work with victims of rape and abuse. This passion for helping others led him back to Fredonia where he serves as a Social Worker and Enhanced Multi-Disciplinary Team Coordinator for the Center for Elder Law and Justice.
Lee has been an active volunteer locally as well. “I understand how important it is for everyone to do their part in a community like Fredonia” Lee said, he continued “serving the residents of Pomfret and Fredonia is about listening, collaborating and finding common ground. My professional work has given me an understanding of how cooperation and compassion can drive good decision making.”
“We are very lucky to have a young person with integrity and professionalism like Mike Lee running for Pomfret Town Council” said Chautauqua County Chairperson Marcia Johnson, “Mike has shown he will put in the work, that he can work with people who have different positions on issues and cares deeply about his fellow man”
Lee is looking forward to working to further the cooperation on Town and Village efforts, focusing on infrastructure needs and being an active listener to all sides of an issue.
