McDonald among 2024 Women of Influence

Dorchester County Economic Development Deputy Director Michelle McDonald has been honored as a recipient of the 2024 Charleston Regional Business Journal’s Women of Influence Award. This award recognizes women who have significantly impacted their industries and communities through leadership, resilience and innovation.

“Congratulations to all Women of Influence honorees, who go above and beyond in their profession and in their community,” said Jason Thomas, executive editor of SC Biz News, which publishes the Charleston Regional Business Journal. “They are shining examples for the generation following them that dedication to your craft and a passion for giving back will go a long way toward a fulfilling and worthwhile career.”

The Women of Influence Award celebrates women from diverse industries and sectors in the Lowcountry, including business, entrepreneurship, public service, education, law, communications, health care, hospitality and finance.

“We are thrilled to celebrate Michelle McDonald for this well-deserved recognition,” said John Truluck, director of economic development for Dorchester County. “Michelle consistently goes above and beyond, demonstrating passion, leadership, and a heart for service. Her commitment to excellence has definitely made a lasting, positive impact on the community.”
