Google rolls out ‘Pixel Watch fully charged’ notification [U]

Must read

For some, Google rolled out the straightforward “Pixel Watch fully charged” notification back in November. It’s now finally seeing wider availability.

Update 10/9: Google today officially detailed the “100% Charge Notification” and how it’s enabled by default for all Pixel Watch devices. One nice aspect is how the “notification is dismissed automatically when the watch is taken off the charger.”

The 100% Charged Notification enables you to put your Pixel Watch back on your wrist ASAP for continuous health and activity monitoring.

This “highly requested feature” also promotes “better battery health over time.”

Original 10/7: This is a very straightforward feature. Once “Your watch is at 100%,” the Google Pixel Watch companion app notifies you.

It’s unclear why it took so long for this to become widely available, but many more people are now seeing the notification after a server-side update today.

Other alternatives are checking the Bluetooth Quick Settings (QS) Tile or using the Battery widget on Pixel phones.

In other developments, there was no Pixel Watch October update today. The Android 14 September update was pulled due to a bug that required impacted users to fully reset their device in order to fix. Others did not have any OTA issues, with Android 14 on the Pixel Watch and Pixel Watch 2 performing quite well.

Meanwhile, the October patch will be the first update for the Pixel Watch 3. Expect bug fixes over new features.

There was also no Pixel phone (or Tablet) update today. Google rolling out one more Android 14 security patch is a possibility ahead of Android 15
